Buy a flamingo - current high bids

These flamingos will be on sale at a silent auction the week of August 31 to September 5, 2009, at the Pelican Rapids Public Library. You may place your bid at the library or online. To bid online, send an email to flamingosforfriends@gmail.com. Tell us the number of the flamingo you are bidding on, your bid, and your telephone number. We will update the bids on this site as they come in.

The cutoff for bids is Saturday, September 5 at 2:00 pm, CDT

If you place the winning bid, you may pay for your flamingo in one of two ways. You may come to the Library at 25 W Mill in Pelican Rapids Minnesota, pay for your flamingo and take it home with you, or you may send us a check for the bid price plus shipping and we will ship your flamingo to you after your check has cleared.

Auction Rules

1. By bidding in the silent auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.

2. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. All items are “as is.” Friends of the Pelican Rapids Library has attempted to describe and catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in this catalog, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.

3. The purchaser must pay for (cash or check) and pick up all items at the library by 5 p.m., Saturday, September 5, unless other arrangements are made (see online bidding below). Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to the Friends of the Pelican Rapids Library.

4. Friends of the Pelican Rapids Library reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.

5. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from Friends of the Pelican Rapids Library, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

6. In the event of a dispute, the Friends of the Pelican Rapids Library Board will act as final authority.

Online Bidding

1. To bid online, locate the item in which you are interested in bidding. Record the item #. Check the bid list on the Flamingosforfriends blog to see what the present highest bid is.

2. Place your bid by sending an email to flamingosforfriends@gmail.com. Tell us what item number you are bidding on and what your bid is. Also include your phone number.

3. You may bid on any items. The blog will be updated Monday through Friday after Library hours with online bids and bids from the library. On Saturday, September 5, the blog will be updated from noon until 2 pm as fast as we can update it.

4. A Friends of the Library member will contact you if you are an online winning bidder. Payment will include a $5, $10, or $15 shipping charge, depending on the size of the item.

5. Payment for items purchased by online bidders must be made by Saturday, September 12. Checks should be sent to Friends of the Pelican Rapids Library, PO Box 371, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572.

6. Following payments, your items will be shipped as soon as your check clears.
